Annual Giving Program

Donors to GKCAGO’s Annual Giving Program are acknowledged in the season’s concert programs. Annual giving categories include Sponsor ($500 and above), Benefactor ($250-$499), Patron ($100-$249), Contributor ($75-$99), Donor ($50-$74) and Supporter (up to $49). Annual giving can be designated to General (Concert Series), French Festival or Bachathon. These contributions can be one time or recurring.

General

Our general fund is used to support our concert season. We strive to bring the Greater Kansas City Area the best in programming.

French Festival

Our annual French Festival has become a beloved standard for the GKCAGO chapter to present to the community. The French Organ Music Festival takes place on the last Sunday in August at the Cathedral. This is a co-sponsored event between the Greater Kansas City chapter of the AGO and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.  It is an event for organists, music enthusiasts, and those curious about the pipe organ.

Bachathon

Kansas City's Annual Festival of the Great Music of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Each year on the first Sunday of May, the Greater Kansas City chapter of the American Guild of Organists presents a program of the music of J.S. Bach.

Long Term Gifts and Endowments

GKCAGO has established funds to be used for long-term gifts and endowments. These funds provide an enduring legacy of support for the work and strategic vision of the chapter. Gifts to these funds can be made for a designated purpose or can be undesignated. For further information contact us using: donate@kcago.com.

Contributions to the Unrestricted Investment Fund will be used to support chapter initiatives including:

• Professional Development and Education
• Youth Outreach & Scholarships
• Competition Awards
• Program Enrichment

This fund will be invested to maximize returns and both interest and principal can be used to support chapter initiatives, depending on need, as determined by the chapter’s board.

Contributions to the Endowment Fund will be invested and only annual earnings will be used to support chapter initiatives. A minimum donation of $10,000 is required to establish a permanent named endowment. Contributions of any amount are encouraged to the already established Rodney E. Giles Program Enrichment Fund whose earnings are used to support annual chapter programming and the June M. Walker Music Education Scholarship Fund whose earnings are used to provide scholarships to students pursuing a degree in the music education department of an accredited college or university.
